Description: Pewter pendant featuring the engraved Pertho rune, made for us by St Justin in Cornwall (UK). The alloy, 92% tin completed with copper and antimony, gives it strength. It comes with a 68 cm waxed leather cord with an adjustable sliding double knot, along with the official box and an explanatory certificate (in English). It belongs to the oldest runic series, the 24 Norse letters used by the ancient Vikings both for writing and for divination. The traditional meaning of Perth is quite uncertain, "the dice cup" and "secret" have both been proposed. Most believe that the nature of Perth involves the concept of something hidden. It has recently been suggested that Perth is the opening of Berkana, the birth of what Berkana holds as a promise. The process of birth is mysterious, as are the mysteries surrounding the protective layers of the womb. In any case, Perth resembles a container of some kind. Both traditional meanings embody the concept of remaining secret, to be released at the right moment, and that of fate. The essence of Perth is water, which represents the unconscious realm, below awareness but not below feelings. It represents hidden potentials, talents that are not yet manifest. In a reading, Perth can reveal a hidden aspect of yourself, or signify a secret that is finally coming to light. Look to the surrounding runes to help you. Receiving Perth in response to a decision-making problem, however, indicates that what is hidden should remain so. This is not the time. Reversed, Perth can indicate a death of some kind. Energy that turns back on itself and becomes blocked, instead of flowing forward into open space. It is usually a sign of congestion, both emotionally and in relationships with others. Disappointments at all levels may arise, and you are warned not to expect too much. Reversed Perth indicates a test of your character, because not all obstacles are negative, they can also be seen as challenges. As with zodiac signs, with some approximation, you can choose your rune according to your birth period, or by looking for the meaning that best suits you or the person you wish to give it to, an original gift for anyone who loves the mysterious charm of the ancient Celtic and Norse runes.
