Cicely Mary Barker (June 28, 1895 - February 16, 1973) was an English illustrator known for a series of fantasy illustrations depicting fairies and flowers. Barker's art education began in childhood with correspondence courses and lessons at the Croydon School of Art. His first professional job included greeting cards and illustrations from children's magazines, and his first book, Flower Fairies of the Spring, it was published in 1923. Similar books were published in the following decades. Barker was an Anglican devotee and donated her works to Christian fundraisers and missionary organizations. He produced some Christian-themed books such as The Book of Children's Hymns and, in collaboration with his sister Dorothy, He Leadeth Me. He designed a stained glass window for the church of St. Edmund, Pitlake, and his painting of the Christ child, Barker she was equally expert in watercolor, pen and ink, oils and pastels. Kate Greenaway and the Pre-Raphaelites were the main influences on her work. He claimed to paint instinctively and rejected artistic theories. Barker died in 1973. Although she published books of Flower Fairy with spring, summer and autumn themes, it was not until 1985 that a winter collection was collected from her remaining works and published posthumously.
