Description:  Pewter pendant featuring the engraved Berkana rune, made for us by St Justin in Cornwall (UK). The alloy, 92% tin completed with copper and antimony, gives it strength. It comes with a 68 cm waxed leather cord with an adjustable sliding double knot, along with the official box and an explanatory certificate (in English). It belongs to the oldest runic series, the 24 Norse letters used by the ancient Vikings both for writing and for divination. Berkana has long been associated with the birch tree. This tree bears no fruit, even though its branches touch the sky. Bearing no fruit while reaching to touch the gods are meaningful elements, because this is how the gestation of a creative process, and its connection to the Divine, is represented. Receiving Berkana in a reading indicates the creation of energy in new forms. Berkana holds within itself the promise of "that which will be born". This could be as literal as the birth of a child, or the birth of a creative idea. Growth is taking place, and it is often a time for new beginnings. Reversed, Berkana usually signifies family issues, or problems with someone you consider very close to you. Its presence frequently indicates anxiety regarding loved ones. Alone, in an otherwise positive reading, Berkana does not represent unsolvable problems, but only serves as a warning. The warning may be that the ground has not been properly cultivated. Growth therefore cannot occur, and will be postponed until the proper preparation has taken place. Starting something new right now will not bring benefits, in fact, if you tried now, the current situation would most likely keep repeating itself until the necessary cultivation has taken place. As with zodiac signs, with some approximation, you can choose your rune according to your birth period, or by looking for the meaning that best suits you or the person you wish to give it to, an original gift for anyone who loves the mysterious charm of the ancient Celtic and Norse runes.
