Description:  Pewter pendant featuring the engraved Raido rune, made for us by St Justin in Cornwall (UK). The alloy, 92% tin completed with copper and antimony, gives it strength. It comes with a 68 cm waxed leather cord with an adjustable sliding double knot, along with the official box and an explanatory certificate (in English). It belongs to the oldest runic series, the 24 Norse letters used by the ancient Vikings both for writing and for divination. The traditional meaning of Raido or Raitho is riding, the journey. Riding means the creation or direction of movement, such as taking on a new role or directing a situation. The journey is understood both literally and metaphorically. A journey for pleasure or study, or a journey into the depths of the soul. Raitho is a rune that symbolizes command and guidance. Ideas inherent to Raitho include freedom, security, and the ability to distinguish right from wrong and act with courage. Taking the reins of your own life by controlling internal and external forces is the sign of riding rather than being ridden. Reversed, Raitho can be seen as a warning. It indicates that this is the wrong path and advises against venturing onto it. External forces may be taking control at the moment, and the more you allow them to gain leverage, the more you lose your individual strength. Reversed Raitho can also indicate that you may undertake a journey for unexpected reasons, such as visiting a sick relative. Delays and confusion may characterize this type of journey. You may not be safe, and postponing your plans would be wise. As with zodiac signs, with some approximation, you can choose your rune according to your birth period, or by looking for the meaning that best suits you or the person you wish to give it to, an original gift for anyone who loves the mysterious charm of the ancient Celtic and Norse runes.
