Tom Wood
Tom Wood is a Fantasy Art Illustrator who is among the best selling poster artists in the United States and Canada. The "Tom Wood Fantasy Art" brand has sold millions of products since 2005. He is also the owner and artistic director of Meridian Design Works, which creates works of art for well-known properties such as the NFL, Disney and Warner Bros. Tom attributes credit to his parents for instilling in him the trust and character to become the artist he is today. Raised on a rural Arkansas farm, Tom has been self-taught since the age of five. From his first taste of Frazetta's "Death Dealer", Tom's passion for creating some of the most iconic fantasy works began. His formal education began at the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville), where he was accepted with a full academic scholarship. His first professional job was in the screen printing sector, directing the art of many sports projects. This early professional training drove him to a vast freelance career that he maintains 20 years later with his Meridian Design Works Corp. Today, the creations of medieval dragons and warriors defying Tom Wood's death have become iconic images of fantasy culture in America, Europe and Asia. Leading manufacturers and publishers have licensed Tom Wood Fantasy Art property for books, posters, stickers and home furnishings (over 100 different products!) Accumulating over 8 million retail sales, at retailers known in countries such as United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand and China. Additionally, in Tom's work as a commercial artist, his clients have included famous companies such as Warner Brothers, Disney, NBA, NFL, MLS, Reebok, Gatorade and NCAA. When Tom is not in his studio, he is spending time as a tutor for young artists, in one of his numerous appearances at the Comic Cons across the country, or driving the back roads of his farm with his wife, Kim and daughter, Emily. He lives in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
