Description:  Pewter pendant featuring the engraved Thurisaz rune, made for us by St Justin in Cornwall (UK). The alloy, 92% tin completed with copper and antimony, gives it strength. It comes with a 68 cm waxed leather cord with an adjustable sliding double knot, along with the official box and an explanatory certificate (in English). It belongs to the oldest runic series, the 24 Norse letters used by the ancient Vikings both for writing and for divination. Thurisaz refers to Thor's mighty hammer and the sharp point of the thorn. Its traditional association with giants and the god Thor represents its double meaning, the forces of chaos and their opposite. Thurisaz stands on the border between the conscious and the subconscious, and its negative form, the shadows of the unconscious. If its energy can be brought to a conscious level, Thurisaz can be very useful. If repressed and left unknown, it can turn negative and manifest as destructive behaviour. The difficulty in reading this rune is deciding whether its positive or negative forces are at work. Try to identify whether the forces are directed outward or inward, using the surrounding runes for help. Thurisaz always embodies both positive and negative energy, whether upright or reversed. This rune has no clearly distinct characteristics regarding its orientation. One possible meaning is a block of creative energy, or unconscious inhibiting forces that hold the individual back and constrain them. A reversed Thurisaz can also indicate your willingness to reject someone's advice. Acting now could produce worse repercussions than when it appears upright. It is possible that you are deceiving yourself at this time. Be very careful and try not to make your situation worse. As with zodiac signs, with some approximation, you can choose your rune according to your birth period, or by looking for the meaning that best suits you or the person you wish to give it to, an original gift for anyone who loves the mysterious charm of the ancient Celtic and Norse runes.
